Hey, I’m Dom Kariniemi – and this is how I started LUMI Window Cleaning.

I was 15, and tired of sitting at home and being lazy. Most places wouldn’t hire my age, so I knew I had to think out of the box! It was during this time that my dad told me I should look into cleaning windows. I immediately saw the potential, and started researching non-stop. I watched/listened to hundreds of hours of videos and podcasts in order to build the confidence to finally start!

Then, I was just 15, having the big day with my first client. I was nervous, but quickly jumped into the flow of working. The moment I got handed that $30 CHECK , I was ecstatic! I thought to myself “Can I actually make this work?” Thankfully, the clients were great, and threw out a post on Next-door to help! Before long, word spread and I was helping multiple people a week. This was challenging, for not only me, but my mom! She would drop me off at the jobs on her way to work in the morning, or I’d have to walk with my ladders and buckets! Neighbors began to notice me!

That year, 2022 was a great learning experience for me. It’s when I truly started taking it seriously, and dialing in how I can best service people. Quality, customer experience and reliability became three staples that I found out set me apart from my competition. Even though I was just 16, many homeowners opted to go with me for these three reasons. This focus has held true to this day.

Fast forward to current day,  we have learned that it’s not just about money, it’s about the people. Providing a high quality, personable, and professional experience is what has allowed me to stand out from the rest. This is what has allowed Lumi to be the highest-reviewed company in the Cave Creek area, and hopefully soon, all of Phoenix. 

While I hope to grow and help many, I will never lose track of the characteristics that initially got me here.
